Your mission at The Monterey Bay Aquarium has been to gather information about the kelp forest.

Your research journal is filled with notes and drawings of all you have seen. Now, as your class is picking out souvenirs in the gift shop, you wander out the door and across the deck to look at the kelp raft just off shore.
As you watch, an otter seems to be returning your gaze. You watch, amazed, as the otter unwraps itself from a kelp frond and swims towards you. As it nears the deck, it speaks to you in a furry voice.

"My name is Kelpi," the otter says. "Can you help me?"

"What do you need?" you ask, a bit amazed that you're having a conversation with an otter.

"I'm worried about the temperature of the water Kelpi says. "There are animals I've never seen before in the kelp forest. Things are changing and I'm afraid my home is being destroyed."

"I have some notes about that," you say, flipping open your research journal........
